The pinion nut came loose and then the pinion fell back into the differential, locking it up. Took it too the shop and they refused to honor any recall, so I called Chrysler who really couldn't give me a straight answer, but stated that we may be reimbursed for the repairs, but had to pay upfront for it.

This truck was the laramie 4 wheel drive model and had absolutely no warning with issues at all. The results are presented relative to the average model that year. I thought that was odd for a vehicle with only 84000 miles to be falling apart like that. The approximate failure mileage was 124,000.
